Spending most of my sunday online...learning.
Searched and found ---->
www.grammatikdeutsch.de This site is completly in the german language so it's that more difficult. But I think that's a good thing to learn directly through german. I did a very helpful tutorial on the cases eg. Nominativ, Genitic, Dativ, Akkusativ. Which was a great success, I know feel like I understand what I couldn't grasp in 50 mins teaching with a class.
www.german-grammar.de It's like an online grammar book, with table of contents and chapters. Lots of excersises to do where you tick the box to answer. It has audio where you can hear the word pronounced. The only negative feedback on have on this site, is that it almost gives too much information, like many grammar books do the same.
http://dict.leo.org - excellant online dictionary for fast and accurate translating. It was recogmended to me by my lecturer. It's really helping me especially when I'm working straight to typing on word documents.

Ah here...don't be so naive.
I, and many others of the western world, live in a hugely digitally dominant century.
And I think that social-networking is possibly the greatest part of this "techno culture".
I also personally agree that it can become a feed and support unit for addiction eg. bebo, myspace.
BUT purrrlease...
the sudden concern over pedophilia by parents largely stems from FEAR being politically pushed in the media as so monetarily choosen.
With power comes responsibilty blah blah blah...
Sure we all have to maintain a degree of sensibilty just to survive each day, but lets not grow paranoid.
The blogosphere can be a very happy place =)

Post 1. I have been inspiried.
Ok. So, sort of not so randomly side tracking off the lab session, I discovered a very brave blog on www.blogsearchengine.com . The title was "Garbage (Delete)" and the post was almost painstakingly simple, "This has potential".
But you're liking it too yes?
It's good that we're on the same page...tips and advice say that this level of understanding in our reader/writer relationship is healthy.
Although, it also says forebodeingly that communication is about relationships and not technology.
Hmmm anyway.
Things I figured out by myself about myself today.
Learning preferences = individual.
Feedback = constructive critisim ( I take quite unkindly to offence BUT I do have a nice and simple/stupid sense of humour thank you very much).
Oh...speaking of which...browsing through the infamous site above...I found a few words of wisdom from an experienced blogger about writing styles...he/she/it said "KISS...Keep It Simple,Stupid".
So, that is the attitude I am adapting to fuel the rantings, observations, opinions that I shall write about in this my new blogging career.
I will try my very best to be as informal as possible.
I will interchange between appearing biased and openminded because I just can't help myself.
I have just remembered that I have forgotten to implement the "inverted pyramid" technique that I learned today; Introduce a main point and then fill in the gaps later.
And scrolling back up I am realising that they're are too many long sentences and block passages of texts vs "simple and stupid" paragraphs that are easy on the eye.
Structure and presentation anyone?
Oops.
Last weeks news...this weeks blog.
I went to the Language exchange partner meeting organised by the LRA.
And met two shiny new German peoples.
I downloaded some more music from german artists on www.last.fm
Wow I'm like totally like oh my god like pimping that site.
I have succesfully in stages bought all my books for the new semester without reaching poverty and just in time for October.
And in all seriousness I shall commence readings asap.
My friend and fellow scholar watched a hillarious version of the Grimms Brother Hansel and Gretal in german in the lra. It wasn't a comedy but it was funny. We're studying the fairytales in two of our modules this semester so it was a helpful way to pass the time.
Labs over.
Over and out.
=)
